Keratosis Pilaris
(KP)
What is keratosis pilaris?
KP is a harmless skin condition that causes tiny, rough bumps — often called “chicken skin” — usually on the upper arms, thighs, or cheeks.
How to Tell If You Have It
- Small, sandpaper-like bumps
- Commonly found on the backs of arms or thighs
- May be red or skin-colored
- Often worse in dry weather
Why It Happens
Caused by a buildup of keratin (a skin protein) in hair follicles. It’s common in teens and those with dry or sensitive skin.
How We Help
We compound gentle exfoliating creams with moisturizers to smooth the skin and unclog follicles — without causing irritation.
What to Expect
Your formula may include lactic acid, urea, or salicylic acid in a hydrating base that soothes as it treats.
